Fool's Gold

Its irritating taking so many photos, and only a few make the cut. This time some were angrily deleted, that would have otherwise made it onto here, not because I was pulling ugly faces (which is the most common problem) but because I had forgotten to pull up my tights higher. This meant that the darker coloured shorts part was clearly visible and was all I could focus on. Which brings me to my point, why do tights always have that thicker, darker, gross bit at the top? I admit when they were first invented the hemlines of the time meant this part would never have been seen, but in the modern world with skirts constantly on the rise, exposing more leg, why was the bike-short looking part not culled? Maybe its to stop runs sneaking up the thigh, but when they reach that part of the leg your tights are already ruined anyway. If anyone knows why this abomination is still a part of the majority of tights, please let me know.
Anyway, I'm over my rant now. The shirt in this post is the only item I have ever bought from Witchery. Not because I dont like their product, but because it is way out of my price range. Luckily, this one was on sale and even though I shouldn't be buying anymore clothes with my already bursting wardrobe, it was only $59.99 and its 100% silk. And it can be justified by the fact I've had it for a week and have already worn it twice and I think a black business shaped shirt won't ever be "out".
The shoes, however, I can not so easily justify. They were on sale but they are so very uncomfortable that I have only managed to wear them once and complained about them the whole night (not to mention I walked 10 times slower then everyone else and was constantly hanging on to someones arm so I didnt fall over). I am hoping I might be able to get the platform and associated part of the heel lopped off so they are a more manageable size. Here's hoping.
The skirt was found at a thrift shop under the dress up section. At first I wondered why is a skirt in such a beautiful fabric considered a dress up. It wasn't till I got home and noticed they were in fact GIANT shorts, that I realised they may have been part of an aladdin costume. Nevertheless, a few snips with scissors and now it is a skirt.
The necklace was originally a very ugly bag that I, again, whipped out my scissors for.
Shirt: Witchery, Skirt: Thrifted and DIYed, Shoes: Wayne Cooper, Tights: from hell, Necklace DIYed by me, Bag: Thrifted.

I hate that part of tights too - and find it gets exposed sometimes if I'm wearing a short dress. I am loving your outfit, it is very cute x
