Try-Hard, Die-Hard

This is the first outfit that I have worn to uni that I have actually wanted to capture on film and I've been back for a whole week now. The problem wasn't that I wasn't trying hard enough, it was the opposite. My first week back I always try and wear my best clothes or my best ideas because this is when I will meet new people and will make my first impression. This semester though I just tried way to hard, so I ended up looking like a slave to (too many) fashion trends and failed to look like me. And when you try too hard in my course it is magnified 10-fold because everyone else is wearing jeans and sneakers (probably the more practical option for labs).

This outfit though (in my opinion) is better, more laid back, less try hard. I think I'm going to get to uni and think that people are staring at me because they like what they see, not because they think I look like a fool. So before I have even arrived at uni, I have learnt my first lesson. Don't be a try-hard , just be me.

White Shirt: my grandfathers, Gold Studded Bralet (worn over black singlet): DIY by me, Jean Tights: Supre, Sneakers: my boyrfiends Converse, Flats: Zu.

Wow - I don't think I've ever considered dressing my best for other people! Haha but I do like the studs on the blouse, they're a nice touch x
